If you cannot get everything before class, there will be some supplies available from the teachers to help you get started the first night.
Suggested paint colors – traditional or water soluble:
- Bright primary colors
- Alizarin Crimson (37ml tube)
- Cadmium yellow light
- Ultramarine Blue
- Earth tone colors
- Prussian blue
- Yellow ochre
- Burnt sienna
- Other necessary colors
- Payne’s grey
- Titanium white (large tube), plus small zinc if Van Gogh water soluble
Supplies
- Canvas boards 11/14”,12×16”, 16×20” or stretched canvas or canvas paper
- Brushes – you’ll need a variety (we’ll talk about this)
- Palette or painting knife – a variety of sizes
- Gojo Hand Cleaner for hands and brushes (found in an automotive department)
- Table easel with clamp or canvas clamps
- Pad of palette paper or waxy paper plates
- Small cat food or tuna can or yogurt container to put your oil or water in
- Paper towels
- Color wheel
- Small set of oil pastels (optional)
- Dawn detergent
- Old clothes or a smock
- A tackle or tool box to hold all your supplies
