If you are an adult without a high school diploma, The High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) program (formerly the GED) could be your route to improved career prospects, a college education and increased earnings potential. Adult diploma programs are central to the mission and tradition of Maine Adult Education. Join other students who have recently completed the program. The HiSET contains 5 tests:
• Reading
• Math
• Science
• Social studies
• Writing

In order to take the official HiSET tests, you must meet the following criteria:
• 17 or older (preparation for HiSET may begin before the student is 17)
• Pass all 5 HiSET pretests with a score of “prepared,” or “well-prepared”
• Have a valid photo ID at the time of testing

All services through our Learning Center are FREE of charge.
