Health and Safety Protocol

To keep our students and staff healthy, we offer the following health guidelines for our school community. By following these simple steps, we can reduce the incidence of many infectious diseases such as the flu, colds, and Covid-19 from spreading at school. Essentially, there are no longer any differentiated restrictions with Covid-19 (per the CDC), and it is now treated like any respiratory illness.

Health Guideline:

Please notify adult ed if you tested positive for Covid soon after attending a class so we can notify the other students and the instructor.

Students and staff should stay home and away from others until they have been fever-free for 24 hours (without medication) AND their symptoms are improving.

Simple Preventive Steps to keep us all healthy:

1. Daily Health Screening: Do a daily pre-screening of your health prior to accessing district schools and transportation. If you feel unwell, please stay home.

2. Hand Hygiene: Practice good hand hygiene using soap and water or hand sanitizer.

3. Respiratory Etiquette: Cover your mouth and nose with the inside of their elbow when coughing or sneezing.

4. Immunization: Stay up to date on vaccinations.

5. Masking: Masks are optional in all settings in our schools, except that a nurse (or administrator in their stead) may require symptomatic students to wear a mask while they are being evaluated.

6. Ventilation: The ventilation in each building has been tested and upgraded over the past few years.  All rooms and public spaces meet or exceed the recommended air exchange volumes per day.  All filters meet or exceed recommendations for recirculated air.
